It’s pretty crazy to be about 50 years old and look like this, and deny that you’re ill.

Steve Jobs no doubt was a brilliant man. But, my biggest criticism of him and the Apple empire is that it is built on sweatshop labor from all over the World. The philosophy of collaboration should extent all the way down to every worker. Slavery hasn’t disappeared it has just been “outsourced”.
What about the massive amounts of poisonous e-waste that is dumped on poor communities all over the World? Poor people are not expendable and the poisoning of the Earth’s biosphere is just societal suicide.

Brilliant organizational ability, making one person n one person only responsible for one important thing, whether it be OS or hardware. Not letting committee be responsible, simply brilliant.

i love this talk. very much. it makes sense to me a lot. i worked in a place that initially had no committee (small company). then while it started to grow, people wanted to gain power so they started to define committees (and each committee want a leader then) with political excuses. towards the end, the number of committees was about the same as the number of team members because each person wanted to get some part of the politics. Obviously the result was a fragmented organizational culture and soon the turn over increased and so on.

One of Apple’s worst secret is a critical racist ideology. I admire Andre Agassi and the rocker from new jersey using their money to help improve the education of inner city african american children. Jobs would sooner care for racist, pretentious, white (and asians who think they are white) college students.
